Dear dancers,

We are a small group from DESY, Uni, Max-Planck, UKE, CSSB, EuXFEL and other institute colleagues who teach each other different dance styles.

We meet on Tuesdays in building 99 CFEL SR I-III usually between 4-6pm for 1-2hours. Everyone who is good at a dance prepares a dance session and shows the others how to dance it. We vary every week. We have already learned Colombian dances (Cumbia and Mapalé), standard dances (Discofox and Waltz) and Renaissance dances (Tourdion, Chappeloise, Traubentritt, Shiarazula and Indian Queen). We also learn Latin American dances such as Tango, Salsa, Cha-cha-cha and more.

You don't necessarily need a partner to dance with us, but everyone is welcome to bring a friend, spouse or acquaintance. We have a mailing list dance@desy.de and a DANCE Mattermost channel (www.chat.desy.de) where we share information about our weekly dance sessions. The Tuesday evenings are free of charge and we welcome active participation. If you are also a good dancer and would like to share your knowledge with the group, please contact me.

We do also offer a Lindi Hop dance course with a professional dance instructor biweekly on Mondays from 7.00 to 8.30 p.m. in Building 99 CFEL SR I-III. One trial is free of charge. After that it costs you 10€ each session, so 20€ per month. If you would like to attend, please email me. 

For all dance classes: Beginners and Pro´s are welcome!

If you are already a member of the BSG DESY, you only need to let us know once. We ask all others to join the DESY company sports association from 2025 (12€ per year). Information and the registration form can be found at https://sport.desy.de/ueber_uns/.
